All right, I had no idea what to call it. I guess there's nothing particularly spectacular about this image, but I like the water, and the sky, to an extent. The atmosphere should be a bit more colourful but I was lazy.
Photoshop... would be VERY hard to make it look right I think.
I have never used terragen, but if it is possible look for "raytraced" materials. That is probably what you want. Right now you are probably just using a standard semi transparent material.
Great image for your first one. Just kidding! (I read your Journal) Seriously, this is really very cool. Amazing how you get the transparency thru the water.

The water appears to have the same index of refraction as the air though (stuff under water generally looks bent) but still looks very nice
